We were in Italy from the 18th October to the 19th December 2002
Ju spotted this 30cm long snake in a stream high in the Apennines. It didn't appear to be able to swim and I think it may have been very cold from the water around it. It is a immature Western Whip Snake Coluber viridiflavus which has none of the adult colouration yet.
And these 'wild' boars were actually being farmed, but they could have been wild...
